Kindra

Kindra is student management software for New Zealand early learning services. It records attendance, enrolment and staffing, works out ratios against the Education (Early Childhood Services) Regulations 2008, and prepares the returns a service files with the Ministry of Education.

It is made by Salix Limited, a New Zealand company, and it is in use at one service while it is being built. It is not yet generally available.

Write to hello@kindra.co.nz. For a service already using Kindra, support is at support@kindra.co.nz. There is a written support policy setting out hours, severity levels and response targets, and it is given to a service rather than summarised here, because a summary is the version that goes out of date.

Security and privacy

Under the Privacy Act 2020 the early learning service is the agency that collects a family’s information and carries the obligations for it. Salix Limited holds that information as the service’s agent under section 11 of that Act, which means the records belong to the service and are not ours to use for our own purposes.

To report a security issue, write to support@kindra.co.nz with enough detail to reproduce it. We will confirm receipt, and we will tell you what we found whether or not it turns out to be a fault.
